| Born 1977, the Netherlands the artist lives and works in Assen, the Netherlands Marjan Buning (1977) is an artphotographer in the first place. She also uses other techniques (building installations for example). Marjan’s work is inspired on her own life, the people in it. The inspiration streches out to the wider circles of politics and its evil ways till it touches the total bizarness of the world. It’s beauty and horror. Finally, all the big issues come down together on the small base of one’s life. It’s a vicious circle. Humor (from irony to cynicism) is an important tool in Marjan’s language. Just like her unique use of colour and shape, the rawness of material, and coincidence. Marjan Buning studied at the School for Photography in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
