24hr Video Installation ‘Doomsday Equation’

| 7th-12th April Phillips Store, Dublin, Ireland 24 hour Video Installation in the Phillips Store in Dublin, Ireland by UK born video artist and filmmaker Tristan Hutchinson, entitled ‘Doomsday Equation’. There is a scientific equation that claims to predict the future lifetime of the human race. It gives a 95% chance of extinction within 9120 years. This was all based on certain theories and probability arguments but I decided to create a doomsday equation for the present day. Taking the Lottery as a symbol for the pursuit of wealth in the face of such high odds and probabilities, I am presenting the six most drawn numbers in the lottery as a new doomsday equation, offered on the expensive plasma and high definition TV screens of the Phillips Store every evening for one week.
