Born 1973,
the artist lives and works in Krager, Norway

Lise Strmdal Bottolfs is educated in sculpting arts from KHIB, the art academy in Bergen. Her works have been exhibited several times at “Hstutstillingen” and “Vestlandsutstillingen”

Spring 2005 she won an art challenge given by the town of Skien. The result is her two sculptures now to be seen at the entrance of Lie Kultur og aktivitetssenter.

Her works are of different sizes, and often you find them balancing between beauty and the hideous.
The expression is often a mixture of the organic and the abstract, opening an invitation to the imaginative.

The base of her works lay in the esthetique of shapes.

The theme in many of her works are inspired by the ethical dilemmas derived from modern gene therapy and organ transplantation. All her work is inspired by time, space, science and knowledge.
Some pieces reflect of a more poetic character.

Bottolfs also does portrait sculpturing. Over the years she has made numerous pieces. Some are to be seen in the portfolio.

Most of her sculptures are modelled in clay, and then set in Epoxy, A-crystal or concret.
