Hector & Hector is of Italian-French origin, French on his mother’s side and currently lives partly in the South of France in the Var region and partly on the Tyrrhenian coast of Tuscany but he often travels and works also in Hungary for family reasons.

In Budapest two one-man shows are being prepared during this year with posters from the Hungarian cinema. At the start of his career as an artist he began as a boy by painting clowns and circus people. He later collaborated with theatre and cinema artists. He lived in Paris for some time and then returned to Italy to devote himself to the humanities which led to a degree from Florence in 1986.

In France he came in contact with the Nouveau Réalisme movement and is still fascinated by great poster artists like Raymond Hains, Villeglé, Dufrêne, Arman and began in Italy to admire the works of Mimmo Rotella and in France to work on cinema and theatre posters and fashion magazines adding oriental prints, fabrics and pieces of raw hemp immersed in resin.

Born 1987, United States
the artist lives and works in Houston, United States

I am a college student at the University of Houston, Downtown taking general core classes. I took a few semesters of art classes in high school but since then I haven’t taken art. I have never had an exhibition, but on March 19th I will be displaying some of my art at Rice University in Houston, TX for the eve of the Iraq invasion. My art generally focuses on the war’s effect on Iraqis. I have a lot of inspiration and I am fond of the works of Californian artist David Miller (www.davidmillerart.com), among others. I put together a video of my artwork set to music of Irish singer / songwriter Ro Tierney in light of the fifth year anniversary of the Iraq War.
