| Born 1955, USA the artist lives and works in Oakland CA., USA Inspired by her companionship with nature since childhood summers spent on the Atlantic coast, Jennifer Bains paintings give structure to an experience that is otherwise capricious. Bains paintings draw the viewer through rapid shifts of visual information to effect the perceived or felt experience of time, place and memory._Incongruent images of flowers, foliage and wildlife are linked in sequential vertical or horizontal bands to be read across or down the paintings like filmstrip narratives. The passages are rendered in various stages of observation; close-up and detailed botanical line drawings segway into blurred and painterly environs of flowers or birds in flight, and further juxtaposed with bands of abstract, highly-saturated color fields. In Bains experience, place is digested in small parts and observations . . . broadly and then up close simultaneously. She compares her painting composition to that of a visual poem, where one is lead through many passages or shifts in description and metaphor to culminate in a work that is open to interpretation. | Born 1967, Norway the artist lives and works in Oslo, Norway Tedited makes fresh gay art inspired by the beauty of the male body and soul. He sees his work as a gay artists exploration of homoerotic art beetween pornography and the ordinary nude, expressing more of the homoerotic longing and the soul within than ordinary gay art can. Born in the serenely beautyful Norwegian countryside, Tedited’s gay and homoerotic art carries a haunting longing for beauty. Website: The gay art gallery of Tedited |
