Beatrix Pang is a chinese artist from Hong Kong. The interest in situations and phenomenon which consists of Distance and Absence, both in still and motion picture provides the starting point for her artistic practice. Her photographic expression
tends to a more notional and poetic form, which brings in imaginations that evoke the trivial acts and moments of daily life experience. She views her photographic works as a rather conceptual approach to the issue that interest her within the field of video art that she later developed. The early photographic works are very engaged with conceptual ideas that related to philosophy and poetry. The latest works of both photographs and video works are based on a more conceptual take on time and physical circumstances in a fugitive moment.

After studying photography at the School of Design in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Pang went on to graduate studies with granted scholarship at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts, Norway, where she got her MA in 2005. In Fall 2005, her video installation work �Distance = Time x Speed� was selected in the Hong Kong Art Biennial 2005. From 2006, she was actively organising different cross-cultural projects like: Trading Places - a symposium of artists and cultural practitioners
from the Pearl River Delta region in South-east China; Nordic videos selection for IFVA - Hong Kong Short film and video festival; FromBeetoBee Network - an artists collective internet gallery with artists from Hong Kong and Hamburg;
coordinating Art and Culture Outreach artist residency - the 1st Artists-in-Residence in Hong Kong. Pang was teaching in a photography class for Diploma in Fine Art students at the Hong Kong Art School, then lately, she is participating in film and digital arts lesson for high school students at Hong Kong School of Creativity. Apart from mentoring, Pang just formed an artist collaborative unit - KLUUBB. It aims to endeavours the collaboration between local artists and cultural organizers to bring engaging, relevant, and experimental DIY creative programming to the public.
