| Born 1966, Mexico the artist lives and works in California, USA Francisco Castro Francisco has been creating and selling his pieces to private collectors for several years. He finds influence for his work from artists like Rauschenberg, Frida Kahlo and Jean-Michel Basquiat; however his biggest influences have been his own life experiences. “I see my work as a sort of visual diary; an expression of emotions and experiences that I can’t necessarily share or find a way to put into words. Sometimes I start out with an aesthetic idea for a piece but my mood or thoughts take it in another direction. The finished product is never what I started out trying to create.” Francisco’s work has been featured at the California State Capitol by invitation of Senator Deborah Ortiz. He’s also won numerous awards at the California State Fair and placed 1st in his division at KVIE’s Art Auction 2004 and 2006. Additionally, he’s been a featured artist in Comcast’s televised program “Artists Alive”. Francisco is Represented by 20th St. Art Gallery in Sacramento, CA. Website: Castro Fine Arts |
