Genece Hamby is an emerging artist and poet. A digital painter, she taps�into imagery seen within her own mind’s eye. In her words:

From the very start of the Mac and PC revolution, I took to both like a duck takes to water. Quickly, I was able to master most software programs. Early in an introduction to the world of digital graphics, I showed strong signs of artistic and technical talents which ultimately grew into a deep exploration and passion for the art and technology.�
Personally, I think my ability to draw, paint and design on the computer was a simple evolution from my favorite childhood toy — the Etch-A-Sketch. You remember this toy? It had a small silver gray screen, was bright red, and had two knobs (one for vertical lines and the other for horizontal). For hours, I used to sit and draw lines after lines after lines. I’d draw buildings, airplanes, people, circles, trees, animals, rocks — you name it.
Although I am an emerging artist in digital painting, I am no stranger to the world of digital art. Since 1985, I was a branding and marketing consultant who specialized in commercial packaging design and brand identity. After 25 years in the business, it was time to say goodbye.

While seeking a new career path, I re-discovered a passion for digital art. Instead of researching opportunities for my career, I found myself painting all day at the computer. Quickly, I discovered a preference for digital painting. It’s a natural feeling when I connect to the flow of color and brush coming together to express an image from my mind’s eye.
My digital paintings are a deeper expression that aligns with the stillness, beauty and grace of my soul. It is why all of my work has a quality of light and depth. When painting, I reach�for the purest visual I am capable of captivating on the blank canvas screen. My desire is always to express something beautiful, soulful, or colorful that creates an oasis of stillness.
